Nikoleta Makrionitou was born and grew up in Athens. She is a graduate of the faculty of Enology and Drinks Tecnonology, of the Technological Institute of Athens. In 2001, she worked for Boutari’s Winery, Santorini, within the frames of her practical exercise and afterwards she used to work as an oenologist for several oenological laboratories. In the years that followed, she studied cooking at the professional Culinary Education Chef d' Oeuvre and in 2004 she worked for the restaurant of the Olympic Village and afterwards for the restaurant Deals in N. Psihiko. From 2005 she works as a journalist of Wine and Flavour in magazines of Gastronomy such as the ¨Aroma Kouzinas¨, the ¨Cooking & Quality of Life¨ and the free press ¨I cook Greek¨. From 2005 until today she works for the daily Newspaper ¨Kathimerini¨ and especially for the magazines that this newspaper publishes: ¨Oinohoos¨, ¨Gastronomos¨ and ¨Glikes Istories¨.
