Nikolas Giannopoulos received the Third Position in the International Jeunes Sommelier Compettion organised by the Chaine des Rotisseurs and the Court of Master Sommeliers, in Santander, Spain, in October 2010. He is a member of Union de la Sommellerie Greque, candidate of the WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits and Certified Sommelier from the Court of Masters Sommeliers UK. He is a graduate of Centre Internationale De Glion, hotel management school. He has worked as a sommelier in two Michelin-starred restaurants: Spondi (2 Stars) and Jerome Serres (1 Star). Also, he has been trained in Aurora Restaurant of Great Eastern Hotel in the City of London and Gordon Ramsay at Claridges. Nikolas was awarded for wine-tasting excellence from WSET in 2006. He favors red wines of Chateuneauf duPape and whites from Riesling grape variety from Mosel and Rheingau regions. Nikolas works as Sommelier in Vinoterra Resto and Cava in Athens, suggesting wines from one of the most extensive cellars in Greece
