Andreas Kapaklis: He was born in Kalamata and Studied Oenology and Beverage technology at the faculty of Enology and Drinks Tecnonology, of the Technological Institute of Athens, from which he graduated in 2003. In 2004 he continued with his studies at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland and graduated with the degree of M.Sc. in Biotechnology. In 2005 he ¨returned¨ to Oenology by starting his PhD on varietal aroma in the Geisenheim Research Station, Germany. Besides the research work he also taught for 2 years the laboratory course on Wine microbiology at the Wiesbaden University of applied sciences. Since January 2011 he works at Schuler St. JakobsKellerei in Switzerland as head of Quality control and the laboratory Vinalytik, while he is also continuing research on his PhD.
