His area of expertise is in enology and the winemaking process, which he studied in both Milan and Bordeaux, followed and perfected by several harvests spent in different wine cellars in France and Italy, where he had the opportunity to approach the most considered winemakers and take charge of the production process.

In the second part of his career he moved to Paris, to work for the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine). He was initially in charge of the Sub-commission Methods of Analyses, which enabled him to increase his analytical skills. He was then promoted to his current position: Head of unit of Enology Commission, which gives him the opportunity to develop his expertise in viti-vinculture rules and legislation. He represents the OIV in many wine tastings in different countries, allowing him to discover new cultures, wines and vine varieties or keep up to date about already known regions.
