THE WAY TO ENTER THE
“Thessaloniki Wine and Spirits Trophy”

1. ONLINE REGISTRATION
Visit our website, www.tiwc.gr, and create a user account to register your wines online.
If you have used the online entry system before, fill in your email and password to log in and register your wines/spirits. If this is the first time you are entering online, fill in your contact details to get a password and instructions.
2. SUBMITTING THE WINES
Submitting the wines is accessible. Just log in and go to the Participation tab, select the Online Entry Form for Wines or the Online Entry Form for Spirits, and fill out all the details of your sample.
(*) For each registered wine/spirit, please attach one set of labels (front and back):
A. For each wine sample:
2. For organic wines, the relevant certificate from the certification body.
3. A photo of the bottle, with the label showing the corresponding vintage or without vintage (optional).
B. For each spirit, ouzo, and gin sample
2. Certificate of label compliance with the law, from the competent local Chemical Service, which includes the stamped approved label.
3. Protocol for the distillate's exit from the maturation storage or aging certificate (only for aged distillates) from the competent local Chemical Service
4. A photo of the bottle (optional).
3. DEADLINE
The deadline for the registrationis February 10th, 2026, and the submission of samples is February 13th, 2026, no sample (of wine, spirit) or registration form can be accepted after the deadline.
4. PARTICIPATION COST
The early bird participation fee (VAT included) from Monday 5th to Friday 23rd January 2026 is as follows:
105 € / sample for 1 - 4 samples
95 € / sample for 5 - 8 samples
90 € / sample for nine samples or more
For the rest of the participation fees (VAT included) from Saturday 24th of January to Tuesday 10th of February 2026, are:
125 € / sample for 1 - 4 samples
115 € / sample for 5 - 8 samples
110 € / sample for nine samples or more
5. PAYMENT OPTIONS

Please fill in your company's name in the comments and send us a copy of the transfer order (all the bank costs are to be borne by the registrant).
The payment must be completed until February 11, 2026. If we haven't received notification of your payment until this deadline, the samples will be excluded from the competition.
6. DISPATCH OF SAMPLES
A. Please send per registered wine (carriage paid) five commercially labeled bottles of 0.75L each.
B. Please send per registered spirit (carriage paid): two commercially labeled bottles of 0.5L each. In case of lower capacity bottles, please send (at least) 1,00L in total.
The samples should be delivered between February 02 and 13, 2026 (not earlier or later) from 8:30 to 16:30 to the following address:

All entry cases must clearly state the following: "Thessaloniki Wine and Spirits Trophy".
(*) The samples should be sent as "samples for competition, no commercial value" and must be received by the competition organizers no later than February 13, 2026.
(**) The organizers refuse all responsibility in case of late arrival of samples, total or partial loss during transport, and physical, chemical, and sensory alterations of samples due to temperature variations that may occur during transport. The participants must settle the costs directly with the transport agents for all shipping, customs, and tax charges. Products must comply with this procedure to be allowed to participate in the Competition with a refund of the registration fee. Refused samples will not be returned to the sender.
(***) Participants have the right to withdraw from the competition and receive a refund of the participation fee, as well as the return of their samples (shipping costs payable by the recipient), up until Thursday, February 5th, 2026.
In case of a withdrawal after this date, the organizer bears no obligation to refund the participation fee and/or return the submitted samples.
7. Products permitted to compete
Wines and aromatized wine-based drinks
The wine competition is open to all wines and aromatized wine-based drinks produced in conformity with their country of origin regulations, packaged in glass bottles of up to 2 liters (PDO, PGI, varietal, exceptional wines, etc.). Boxed wines (Bag-In-Box) may participate in the competition and receive a final rating, but they are excluded from the awards.
Spirits, Ouzo, Gin and spirituous drinks of viti-vinicultural origin
The spirits competition is open to all spirituous beverages viti-vinicultural origin, ouzo, gin and spirituous drinks of viti-vinicultural origin produced in conformity with the regulations of their country of origin.
Experimental samples (wines and spirits)
Moreover, juries can test and evaluate experimental samples (wines, aromatized wine-based drinks, spirits, and spirituous drinks of viti-vinicultural origin). However, their rating is notified only to their producers, and they are excluded from the awards. Apart from experimental samples, all products must be destined for sale and from a homogeneous batch of at least 1000 liters. On an exceptional basis, a reduced volume of at least 100 liters may be admitted upon justification of a deficient production.
8. Medals, special awards
Α. Medals
The samples (wine/spirits), according to their final rating, receive the following awards:
• Gold Medal
• Silver Medal
• Bronze Medal
The Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the competition president, reserves the right to limit the number of award-winning products by increasing the base of their categories.
Β. Best wine per Category
All judges retaste the best wines of each Category and award the distinction of the best wine of each Category:
- best white wine (category 1)
- best rosé wine (category 2)
- best red wine (category 3)
- best sweet wine (category 4)
- best sparkling wine (category 5)
- best 'retsina' wine (category 6)
For the award of the above distinctions, it is necessary to participate in the Competition with at least five (5) samples of the same Category.
C. Competition’s best wine - best spirit, ouzo & gin
The best wines of each category, once they have earned a gold medal, are re- tasted by all judges, and awarded:

D. Special awards
The Organizing Committee will introduce special awards to the following categories if at least 5 samples participate per Category and their ratings correspond at least to a bronze medal.

b) best dry single variety Agiorgitiko
c) best dry single variety Debina
d) best dry single variety Malagousia
e) best dry single variety Moschofilero
f) best dry single variety Savatiano
g) best dry single variety Vidiano
h) best dry single variety Xinisteri
i) best dry single variety Xinomavro
j) best organic wine
It should be noted that if a wine is awarded as the best in its category and is included in the above special distinctions, it automatically receives the corresponding special distinction.
9. Medals: Stickers
Medal stickers help your award-winning wine/spirit stand out and give consumers confidence when buying wines/spirits. You can order medal stickers for your awarded products as a submitter of the Thessaloniki Wine and Spirits Trophy.
Alternatively, the award-winning companies may acquire the right to use the digital version of the awarded stickers on the labels of their award-winning products. Please note that the production and use of the stickers on the bottles without the Competition's permission is prohibited.
10. Programme of the Competition
The Competition will take place in Thessaloniki. Tasting sessions will be held from the 25th until the 27th of February 2026. The announcement of the results will be officially published on February 28, 2026, on the website www.tiwc.gr.

12. Categories
1. White still wine (Dry, Semi-dry, Semi-Sweet, Orange Wine, with carbon dioxide overpressure of less than 0.5 Bar at 20°C)
1.a White still wine / Dry
Wines containing up to 4 g/L of residual sugars, or up to 9 g/L, provided that the total acidity, expressed in g/L of tartaric acid, is not lower than the residual sugar content by more than 2 g/L.
1.b White still wine (Semi-dry/Semi-Sweet Wines)
Wines containing more than 4.1 g/L and up to 45 g/L of residual sugars.
1.c White still wine - Orange Wine
2. Rosé still wine (Dry, Semi-dry, Semi-Sweet, with carbon dioxide overpressure of less than 0.5 Bar at 20°C)
2.a Rosé still wine - Dry
Wines containing up to 4 g/L of residual sugars, or up to 9 g/L, provided that the total acidity, expressed in g/L of tartaric acid, is not lower than the residual sugar content by more than 2 g/L.
2.b Rosé still wine / Semi-dry/Semi-Sweet
Wines containing more than 4.1 g/L and up to 45 g/L of residual sugars.

3.a Red still wine - Dry
