  Master Sommelier Greece

Eleftherios Hanialidis MS began his career in the hospitality industry in 2001. With extensive experience as a Head Sommelier and consultant, he has worked across restaurants, wine bars, and wine retail stores. In August 2023, he became the first Master Sommelier of Greece, a landmark achievement in Greek wine history. He also holds the A.S.I. Diploma (Gold Pin), which he earned in 2018. His competition history includes a remarkable debut in 2017, where he placed 3rd in the Best Sommelier of Greece competition and was awarded Best First-Time Competitor. In 2020, he won the prestigious title of Best Sommelier of Greece. Eleftherios has also been a board member of the Greek Sommelier Association, a columnist for Oinoxoos magazine (Kathimerini newspaper) and a wine educator for several years. He is also a frequent judge at esteemed international wine competitions like Decanter Awards and Thessaloniki Wine & Spirits Trophy. Committed to lifelong learning, he continually deepens his expertise—not only in wine, but also in sake, spirits, and beer.
